ROBOJACKETS

As many may know, the annual FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) game challenge has been revealed, launching yet another season of robot build. On January 9, 2010, the RoboJackets took part in the much-celebrated event by hosting their annual FRC kickoff event at the Ferst Center in Atlanta, GA. Although there was inclement weather, the event turnout was a success, attracting over forty teams from Alabama, South Carolina, and all over Georgia. Of those forty teams, fourteen teams stayed for the FIRST robotics-oriented workshops. The workshops, ran by volunteers from the RoboJackets and greater Georgia robotics community, helped prepare FRC teams for a new season. Teams were assisted in assembling basic parts, setting up controls systems, and, most importantly, analyzing game strategies and rules in the workshops. The RoboJackets thank RIM@GT, for the spectacular robot demos for FIRST teams as well as booking the facility, and the CoC for the help with food. With a total of over 350 attendees, the RoboJackets are truly pleased to have sponsored the FRC kickoff event and enrichment workshops, and they are looking forward to continue hosting FRC kickoff events.
