At our next general meeting (Thursday, November, 6 @ 7pm in Van Leer W200) Norman Ahmad from JPL will be giving a presentation about his work at JPL including the up coming MSL (Mars Science Lander). Below is a short bio of the speaker.
Norman Ahmad received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee State University in 2004. He spent 3 summers interning at JPL prior to being hired on as a Robotics Hardware Engineer in 2005. During his 3 years at JPL he has worked on the MER mobility platform, ATHLETE Vehicle, MSL Electronics Ground Support Equipment, and MSL Drill Ground Support Equipment.
Norman became interested in Robotics as a young boy in grade school. He loved watching cartoons like Transformers and Voltron which depicted robots doing various cool things!
