We will be having our next general meeting this Monday Feb. 23rd at 6pm in MRDC 2407. On the agenda is pizza, robots, a fun little activity, and nominations. Speaking of nominations we have several positions up for grabs including:
President
Vice-President
Treasurer
Secretary
PR Chair
At the meeting the current officers will give a short job description for each position and will answer questions. You can then nominate anyone for these positions (including yourself) so long as the nominee accepts. The period for nominations will continue until mid March when the candidates will give speeches followed by elections a week later.

Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia is giving a speech at Tech on the Feb 13th 3:00-4:00 in the TSRB Ballroom. All members are invited to come along with the rest of campus. If you feel the need bring a sign like this, we won’t stop you.

The yearly scrimmage will be taking place Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15 at Kimberly-Clark’s Hembree Crest Facility. It starts at 8am and runs till 5pm. We will be needing volunteers for both days. Those interested should contact Roman Shtylamn via email at shtylman[at]gmail(dot)com.

Today, after building a few jigs, Jake and I wound some solenoids for RoboCup. Stefan finished the test stand. All that remains is some cabling and a plunger.
Testing next week, 10m/s here we come!

IGVC now regularly meets on Wednesday 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for planning and Saturdays 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm for workdays.

The Spring 2009 schedule has been announced. The seminars are held at noon on the first floor of the TSRB with a provided lunch. Topics cover a wide range of fields with in the robotics discipline. For the most up to date information check the RIM website.

We will be having IGVC SLAM research meetings every Tuesday at 6pm in
Klaus. We will meet in the Atrium and then move to one of the
conference rooms (probably 1212) when people get there.
