On Saturday October 5th, the RoboJackets volunteered at GRITS, the Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase. GRITS is an off-season event hosted by the Georgia FIRST committee and had about 25 FRC teams competing. It was an all day event that showcased robots playing this years game, Ultimate Ascent. The event was held at the World Congress Center, and ran in conjunction with the Atlanta Football Classic which was being held at the Georgia Dome.
RoboJackets members volunteered for roles such as scoring, field reset, referee, and pit admin. We had a blast volunteering, and look forward to hosting FIRST Kickoff in January!
The RoboJackets will be helping out with this years Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase. It is hosted in the World Congress Center and is an off season event for the FIRST competition showcasing Georgia’s robotics teams.

The FIRST team heads with Team Reboot to compete in the FIRST Championships in St. Louis.
FIRST Team 4080, which is mentored by the RoboJackets, took home the champions award at Peachtree Regional, which took place from March 14-16. This year’s event had over 60 teams. Team 4080, which is a team made up of mostly home-schooled students, spent 6 weeks building and perfecting a robot to play this years FRC game, Ultimate Ascent. The main goal of the game is to shoot frisbees into three levels, and climb a pyramid at the end of a 2 minute and 15 second long match. 4080 worked tirelessly to build a robot that could shoot the frisbees across a 54-foot long field. This could not have been possible is it were not for our alliance partners, Team 4026, Global Dynamics, and Team 3489, Category 5, as well as the wonderful parents, mentors, and students on the team.
